GenCon 2014 and Con Advice

I’ve got a whole plethora of awesome ready for BSP’s proper announcement (on AUGUST 19th!) and am otherwise sprinting around prepping or packing for GenCon!

Olive is protecting several boxes that are coming with me—but the little fiend has exposed BSP artwork!

As I was printing out resumes and publication sheets (the rest of the promotional materials aside from some nice prints for BSP are, Tymora willing, arriving to the hotel before I am tomorrow) I stumbled across several great articles by Jess Hartley linked from Master Plan’s page somewhere (another great episode from Ryan Macklin by the way—I won a free GenCon pass!!!)

There is a career’s worth of advice on these pages. I think I’ve been following most of these tips already, but if you’re wondering what the hell it is you’re supposed to do, Jess Hartley’s the person to be listening to. Her summations cover the gamut and are a must read.

Part One: Basics

Part Two: Preparation

Part Three: At the Con

Part Four: Follow Ups and Follow Through

If you’re going to be at GenCon this year and want to talk to me, I’ll be at Booth #3039 after 3PM-ish until the Exhibitor Hall closes, and running games in various spots (hotel ballrooms) otherwise during the day.

I don’t know where I’ll be at most nights in Indianapolis, aside from the La Quinta Downtown (props to Jonathan G. Nelson and AdventureAWeek.com for setting me up with a room!) but you’re welcome to find me afterward, if it can be done—my business cards will be at the 3D Virtual Tabletop/AdventureAWeek.com booth (Booth #3039).
